Yuri Bashmet's All-Russian Youth Symphony Orchestra will finish the tour with a concert in Sochi Olympic Park
The band was created by the conductor in 2012. The orchestra was formed on the basis of the All-Russian competition of classical music performers, unique in its idea and scale, and has no analogues in the history of Russia.
Auditions were held in all Federal districts of the country. The first concerts of the band with great success took place in November 2012 in Sochi. Since then, the orchestra has repeatedly performed in the Russian cities of Perm, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg, Simferopol, Sevastopol, Tyumen, St. Petersburg.
In February 2014, the All-Russian Youth Symphony Orchestra took part in the Closing Ceremony of the XXII Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, and in June of the same year performed concerts as part of its first international tour in Brussels, Geneva and Berlin.
The tour will open on June 14 at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall. It will continue with a performance in Tyumen, and will end on June 17 in the Olympic Park.
«Omega Center supports most music projects, but for the first time after the Games, classical melodies will be played in the Olympic Park. It is wonderful that it is the young musicians of the orchestra under the direction of Yuri Bashmet who will perform the works of the great Berlioz and Tchaikovsky on the square where the gold medals of the Winter Olympics were awarded a year ago,» said Valery Danchenko, General Director of Omega Center OJSC.
