Victory Day in the Olympic Park
In honor of the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory, the Olympic Park has prepared a program of events for residents and guests of Sochi. On May 9, the park will host the opening of Singing Fountains.
Visitors will be able to admire the updated light and music show at the Olympic Flame Bowl from 10:00 to 21:00. The musical accompaniment will be favorite songs of the war years – "Victory Day", "Katyusha", "Darkie", "Farewell of the Slavs".
Valery Danchenko, General Director of Omega Center OJSC: Installing new musical compositions on color fountains is a very difficult task. Dozens of water cannons and water robots should work synchronously in complete harmony with the sound. For several months, the head of the Directorate for the operation, construction and reconstruction of facilities, Rustam Zhirov, and his assistants worked to ensure that the fountains of the Sochi Olympic Park began to take off into the sky to the melodies of the war years. But it turned out very nice!".
On the same day, three field kitchens will open in the Olympic Park. For the Victory Day holiday, the Omega Center company organizes a traditional treat for veterans, guests and residents of Sochi. Visitors of the park will be able to taste field cuisine from 10:00 at the Medal Square and Sochi Automuseum.
At 19:00, a minute of silence will be announced in the Olympic Park in memory of those who died during the Great Patriotic War.
Sochi Autodrom will offer guests guided tours of the race track hosting the Formula 1 Russian Grand Prix, as well as a spectacular race, the main prize of which will be the Victory Cup. About 20 cars will take part in the fifth stage of the open championship of the Krasnodar Territory of the Mitjet 2L series. Russian and foreign pilots will take to the track – among them not only athletes gaining fame, but also racers with a worldwide reputation.
Connoisseurs of rare cars will continue to enjoy the unique collection of the Museum of sports and classic cars, located in the building of the Main Grandstand of Sochi Autodrom. Visitors are expected in the Sochi Automuseum, where the exposition of Soviet cars is presented.
For veterans of the Great Patriotic War, entry to the Sochi Autodrom and travel by golf carts will be free.
