Yuri Bashmet gave a concert in Sochi Olympic Park
The All-Russian Youth Orchestra conducted by Maestro Yuri Bashmet performed in Sochi on June 17. The concert took place on the central square of the Olympic Park. Together with Yuri Bashmet, the famous Italian conductor Claudio Vandelli took the stage. The concert in Sochi ended a small tour of the orchestra in Russian cities.
The concert in Sochi completed the next tour of the band in the cities of Russia. For the numerous guests of the Olympic Park, the musicians performed works by Berlioz and Tchaikovsky from the open-air stage.
The All-Russian Youth Orchestra is preparing for the first grand tour of Europe in the history of the collective. This was announced to journalists today before the orchestra's performance in the Sochi Olympic Park by the orchestra's artistic director Yuri Bashmet. According to the maestro, joint creativity becomes the main experience that young musicians receive in the team.
The All-Russian Youth Symphony Orchestra was created by Yuri Bashmet in 2012. The orchestra was formed from the winners of the competition of classical music performers, which was held in all districts of the Russian Federation. The first concerts of the band took place in November 2012 in Sochi.
In February 2014, the All-Russian Youth Symphony Orchestra took part in the Closing Ceremony of the XXII Winter Olympic Games, and in June of the same year, the orchestra performed concerts as part of its first international tour in Brussels, Geneva and Berlin.
